Blessed by great weather, interested art buyers, food and wine lovers, and curious antique collectors… the inaugural ‘Colours of Concordia’ was enjoyed by all involved.  Colours of Concordia commenced with a formal opening of the Art Show with almost 140 people in attendance. Many of South Australia’s talented artists (including some of our own parents and old collegians) showcased their work.  Guests took the opportunity to view and purchase art while being entertained by our talented String Quartet.  The exhibition continued until late Sunday afternoon.

 

On Sunday the ‘Taste of the Barossa’ food and wine festival was held in the courtyard in almost perfect conditions. Fourteen boutique wineries from the Barossa Valley presented their wines for tasting, and an array of continental foods from the Barossa region was provided by Chris Wilksch from the SA Country Store.

 

Of great interest was the antique roadshow, with many people bringing their treasures to Concordia for valuation by our expert panel.

 

Colours of Concordia attracted many people from the extended community, and was a great festive event. Proceeds raised will assist in the development of facilities for Concordia students of the future.
