Concordia's Seismograph in the News
The Concordia seismograph was featured in the news recently, having recorded Adelaide’s most recent notable earthquake in the early hours of Thursday 2 February. The device was built by a group of students several years ago before STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) was a common focus in schools.
Concordia’s Science and Technology Departments have been actively involved in working together on projects like this for a number of years. With the current boom in STEM-related jobs globally, involvement in STEM as well as clubs like the extra-curricular Science and Electronics Club provide students with a variety of opportunities to engage in dynamic, real-world learning.
