Achieving beyond the Classroom

As well as fostering and celebrating student achievement at school, we love seeing students developing their talents and interests beyond the classroom. In recent months, Concordia students have enjoyed success in a diverse range of activities, including competitive diving, go karting, basketball and musical theatre.

Earlier this year, Year 10 student Reuben placed second in the first round of the National Go Kart Championships in Queensland before winning Round 2 in Newcastle, competing in the KA2 Junior class.

In the same month, it was announced that Year 8 student Oscar had made it through a challenging multi-stage audition process involving young people from the USA and around the world and was selected to represent Adelaide Youth Theatre as a participant in filming new choreography DVDs for iTheatrics in New York.

In June, Year 12 student Kate competed in the Australian Open Diving Championships and won gold in the 3m Mixed Synchro and bronze in the Women’s 3m Synchro. She also earned a place in the Australian Diving Team that travelled to Italy for the fifth leg of the FINA Diving Grand Prix.

Most recently, Allie and Noah in Year 9 represented SA Metro at the U16 Basketball Championships in Darwin, finishing with silver and bronze medals respectively.

At Concordia, we seek to develop young people who strive for excellence while also remaining humble and grounded. It is always fantastic to see students embodying school values of excellence, integrity and respect while engaging in such a wide range of pursuits outside the classroom.
