National Science Week 2016
On Friday 12 August, students from Years 6 - 8 took part in an action-packed day of scientific activities around the theme of Droids, Drones and Robots, to celebrate the launch of National Science Week, which runs from 13 - 21 August.
Students particularly enjoyed testing their group's robotic hand in a series of fun challenges and pitching a design for a droid, drone or robot. Many were also interested to hear from guest speakers about current drone technologies such as first person viewer goggles and racing drones.
Year 8 students also had a great time engaging with guests from the University of South Australia's Mechatronic Engineering and Robotics Club (MERC) and testing out a range of gadgets from skill testers and electronic puzzles to remote-controlled robots.
The event was a huge success and a fantastic way to launch National Science Week 2016.
