Budding Year 3 Scientists

While studying the transfer of heat, our Year 3 students enjoyed an opportunity to visit the Concordia Campus late in Term 4, comparing the heat conductivity properties of different metals, inspecting the properties of dry ice and measuring the effects of insulation on heat transfer. A favourite component of their visit to the Nautilus Centre was using dry ice to make slushies.

The students also learnt about the melting properties of various types of cheese while cooking delicious pizzas in the Food Technology kitchen.

It was wonderful for the Year 3s to experience a taste of life at the secondary campus and to work with Dr Joanne Rogers (Head of Science) and Ms Hannah Rosie (Head of Food Design).

They are looking forward to visiting again in the not too distant future!
