After leaving Concordia and completing a science degree with honours (and later a PhD), Dr Alan Pollnitz (Class of 1982) was actively involved in wine research and industry problem solving for over 15 years at The Australian Wine Research Institute. Alan made vital contributions to over 80 publications in areas such as chemistry of wine aroma and flavour, oak, cork taint, agrochemicals, wine colour, fermentation and more.
He then moved on to Forensic Science South Australia where his duties included the analysis of blood and other materials for the presence of drugs and poisons. Alan is now computer programming, building a new system for Forensic Science.
