Term 3, Week 32025

Helping Students Shape Their Next Chapter with Confidence, Clarity and Purpose

6 Aug 2025

Dear Concordia Campus Families

As Term 3 unfolds, we’re delighted to share some of the meaningful moments and exciting milestones already taking place across our campus.

At Concordia, we recognise that every student’s journey is unique. Through thoughtful, collaborative conversations, we work alongside families to understand each child’s gifts, interests and aspirations. Our goal is to help students shape their next chapter with confidence, clarity and purpose.

This term marks the beginning of pathway planning conversations—an important step in ensuring that we’re not simply offering subjects but creating meaningful opportunities that align with each student’s strengths and dreams. In Week 4, subject counselling and course recommendations will begin, supported by a series of scaffolded information sessions, a subject expo, and guidance from Home Class teachers.

This week, we were thrilled to host our Explore Futures Careers Evening, where 40 professionals—from Law, Allied Health, Technology, Trades, Design and Architecture, to Science, Defence, Engineering, Business and more—shared real-world insights through a series of engaging 15-minute presentations. Events like this, along with Australian Business Week (Year 10), Work Experience placements, and direct industry engagement opportunities—such as our involvement with the Adelaide Fringe—are designed to inspire and inform our senior students as they explore life beyond school.

As recently reported by the Australian Council for Educational Research, “high quality career education builds resilient individuals who can adapt to the evolving nature of work and manage multiple careers in their lifetime.” Our Futures Program, supported by individualised guidance from our Futures Coordinator, Mr Oppelaar, is a cornerstone of our commitment to helping students explore and prepare for their future with purpose and confidence.

In the Middle School, students have recently begun a new rotation of subjects, giving them the opportunity to discover and deepen their interests across a broad range of areas including The Arts (Visual and Performing), Design and Engineering, Media, Digital Technologies, and Hospitality.

Beyond the classroom, many students continue to thrive through their involvement in College Sports, Music Ensembles and Performing Arts groups. We were also pleased to welcome families from our Primary School campuses to the secondary campus during our Middle School Family Welcome Evening this week—a valuable opportunity to connect with staff and gain insight into Middle School life.

Term 3 is always a vibrant and energising time, filled with reflection, planning and exciting possibilities. It’s inspiring to hear our students speak with passion about their aspirations—and it is a privilege to walk alongside them, and you, as we co-create their next steps.

Wishing you every blessing for a joyful and fulfilling Term 3.

Kind regards
