Term 3, Week 72025

Investing in Teaching to Enhance Learning, and Highlighting Enrichment Opportunities

4 Sept 2025

As we move toward the end of Term 3, I’m delighted to share an exciting update about how we’re continuing to strengthen teaching and learning at Concordia Campus.

Commencing next year, we will be further investing in our Learning Leadership structure. This initiative will provide our Learning Leadership Team with enhanced resources and greater opportunities to collaborate with industry and higher education providers. These new leaders will work closely with our teaching teams to guide the direction of learning at Concordia, ensuring we continue to grow, innovate and improve.

We believe this investment will better support our teachers and, most importantly, enhance learning outcomes for our students.

Speaking of student outcomes, learning enrichment and extension opportunities at Concordia take many forms. In this edition, I’d like to highlight our mentoring program, CARE@CC (Community of Advocates for Respect and Empathy). Unique to Concordia, this program brings together students in Years 9–12 who are interested in careers in health and medicine. Meeting fortnightly, students spend time with medical professionals and gain valuable insights through their stories and experiences. Since its inception, CARE@CC has welcomed over 20 mentors—including medical specialists, old scholars, academics, and individuals with lived experience of various health issues.

As part of the CARE@CC program, Year 10 students also have the opportunity to participate in the national Australian Brain Bee Challenge, a neuroscience competition. Since 2022, 26 of our students have reached the state finals of this rigorous event.

There are so many more opportunities at Concordia for our gifted and talented students, and we look forward to sharing these regularly through Concordia Connect. I wish you all every blessing for the remainder of Term 3, and a rest from the routines of school in these upcoming holidays.

Kind regards
