The first “Brown and Gold” magazine was published in 1924. The Head Editor was Rev H. H. Bruhn. When Rev Bruhn was 88 years old he wrote down some memories of the first edition – 'One evening we were discussing producing a magazine, and my friend Ewart Eckert drew the cover design freehand with Indian ink during the hour long discussion. This cover was repeated every year until 1927.'
