June Temme (Noske)

1948

June Temme (Noske, Class of 1948) was born in Tarrington, Victoria, Australia just a few years before the start of World War II.

During her years at Concordia June was a talented sportswoman and went on to donate the Concordia Noske-Temme award for girls' sport.

She and her husband, Rev Hubert Temme (Class of 1947), worked as missionaries to Aboriginal communities in the desert of South Australia. From there they continued their work, not only in Australia but in America, Hong Kong, China, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman and places all around the globe before finally settling down in Florida for their golden years.

June has recently published a book, “Led by God, the Blessed Journey of a Minister’s Wife,” which is the account of her extraordinary life growing up on a farm in wartime and later travelling and working with her husband Hubert Temme, now a retired Lutheran clergyman.
