At Concordia College we stepped out to bring love to life through our annual Walk My Way challenge.
In what has become a yearly tradition, the Year 5 and Year 11 cohorts, along with various teachers and support staff, collectively walked 300km in the Middle and Senior School gym on Wednesday 25 May. We needed to walk indoors this year due to the inclement weather, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of all involved.
We did this cross-campus walk to raise money to help the current Ukraine Appeal through Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), the overseas aid and development agency of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
In addition to the walk, the ELC and Primary School supported the day through a casual day with a Ukranian flag colour theme. It was wonderful to see so many students and staff dressed in the traditional colours of the Ukrainian flag and all money raised contributed to our worthy cause of raising important funds for the current crisis in Ukraine.
In what was a wonderful effort as a College, we ended up raising over $2700, which is a brilliant feat!
Thank you to so many of our College community for donating to this worthy cause. Each donation has been greatly valued as is your support of us undertaking the Walk My Way challenge.
We look forward to continuing this special tradition again next year.
