2023 Pelican MTC and Spotlight - Concordia represents!

Each January, Pelican Productions runs two music theatre camps known as MTC and Spotlight, both of which are outstanding in quality. At the end of each camp, the participants perform twice in Westminster’s Michael Murray Theatre, and I was again amazed by the incredible level of learning which occurred during such a short preparation time.

This year, 17 students from Concordia took part in this valuable theatre experience. This is a significant number from one school, but even more impressive is that three of them received awards for their efforts:

  • Henry 12CFIL – Most Outstanding Performer (Senior cast)
  • Annabelle 8LSCO - Most Outstanding Performer (Junior cast)
  • Amali 9TMOR – Director’s Award (Junior cast)

Congratulations to all who took part in this rigorous and highly valued artistic endeavour.

Australia’s National Music Camp – 2023

Each year the National Music Camp is held in a capital city in early January. This year it was Adelaide’s turn to host this prestigious event. Instrumentalists from around Australia between the age of 14 and 21 years old audition for much sought-after positions in three different ensembles, with competition for spots extremely high.

Concordia had six past and present students involved this year, a number which is quite amazing given how difficult it is to gain entry.

Congratulations to:

  • Adina 12KNIC
  • Jude 10COHA
  • Sterling Rieck (Class of 2022)
  • Jasmine Milton (Class of 2021)
  • Haneulle Lovell (Class of 2021)
  • Lewis Blanchard (Class of 2020)
