Grok Academy – free digital training for school students

The importance of digital skills in Australia cannot be overstated in today’s rapidly evolving world. Do you want to enrich your resume with skills that are in great demand? Do you want to take part in some digital competitions and have fun and challenge yourself along the way? Do you want to learn some cyber security skills?

Grok Academy has a range of free online courses, competitions and activities all aligned to the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies. Concordia College students who would like to register can progress through the courses at their own pace. By combining a problem-based learning design with instant feedback, Grok Academy can help build students into confident, independent programmers and problem solvers.

Programming competitions are available to students and teachers from all over the world. Competitions run over five weeks, with upwards of eight problems per week. More than 150,000 students have taken part in Grok Cyber Security Challenges – students can put themselves in the shoes of real-world hackers and cyber security specialists!

There are courses suitable for students from Year 3 – Year 10. We offer a Coding Club at lunchtime on a Friday. Students on the secondary campus can come to the Club and work on Grok Academy courses or undertake modules and competitions in their own time.
