Senior Boys' Knockout Football

Match Report from the coach, Nathan Shrowder:
The Open Boys Football team had their first matches of the year in a Knockout Competition against Cabra College and Seaview High School. Unfortunately, we didn’t come away with a win, but the boys showed plenty of spirit and a real positive attitude throughout both matches.

Given it was our first match, we were a little lost at times with our field positions and outnumbered at the contests by Seaview, but we were able to learn from this and bring a more consistent approach to the second game against Cabra. With quite difficult windy conditions, we had the lead early in the last quarter, but just couldn’t hold on in the final five minutes. We will pick ourselves up and get back out on the training track next Monday and prepare ourselves for the first match of the Wednesday competition.

• Game 1: Concordia lost to Seaview High School: 1.3 (9) - 4.10 (34). Goal scorer: Bailey K.
• Game 2: Concordia lost to Cabra College: 2.5 (17) - 3.11 (29). Goal scorers: Jake S and Jacob H.

The best players across both games were Baily K, Harry K, Jake M, Alex L, Noah and Ben P.

Year 7/8 Boys’ KO Basketball

Match Report from the coach, Isaac Hampel:
Overall, the boys played well in both of their matches; however, we came up against some much taller, bigger bodies. We got back within eight points with five minutes to go against Thomas More College, but unfortunately they ran away with it at the very end. Other than a rocky start in the first quarter against Nazareth, the boys stuck with them for most of the match, but just couldn’t quite close the gap. We were very proud of the boys’ efforts, attitude and determination against some very intimidating opponents.

• Game 2: Concordia lost to Thomas More College: 46-59. Best players: Oscar, Heath and James T. Top scorer: Oscar.
