From the Concordia Campus Principal

As the curtains draw to a close on another eventful term, it's time to reflect on the myriad of achievements and experiences our students have embraced. From enjoying adventures on Year 7 and Year 8 camps through to College Pedal Prix teams competing in Mount Gambier and to the electrifying performances on Sports Day and on stage, it has indeed been a term filled with learning, growth and unforgettable memories.

The term began with excitement as our Year 7 students embarked on their camp, and it is the Year 8s' turn next week. These immersive experiences provide students with opportunities to bond with peers, develop teamwork skills and step out of their comfort zones. They have opportunities to conquer challenging outdoor activities and to engage in reflective discussions, with activities carefully crafted to foster resilience and team building.

This term we also saw the spirit of competition soaring high during our annual Middle and Senior School Sports Day, where students showcased their athleticism and sportsmanship. From track events to team sports, every participant gave their best, embodying the values of determination and fair play. The days was filled with cheers, laughter, and a sense of community as students, teachers and families came together to celebrate physical fitness and friendly rivalry. Congratulations to Highgate House on their victory and sportsmanship.

Lights, camera, action! Our talented performers are dazzling audiences this week with their rendition of the iconic musical "Chicago: High School Edition". Months of rehearsals, dedication and passion are culminating in captivating performances that transport viewers to the glitzy world of jazz and prohibition-era Chicago. The cast and crew are showcasing not only their artistic talents, but also the power of collaboration, perseverance and teamwork.

Rounding out Term 1 is the Year 12 Formal, to be held on Friday 12 April. This much-anticipated event promises an evening of elegance, celebration and lasting memories. It's time to dress up and share an unforgettable night as the Year 12 students come together to commemorate this milestone in their schooling journey.

As we look ahead to the next term, it's essential to mark your calendars for the upcoming Year 7-12 Learning Conversations scheduled for Tuesday of Week 1 (30 April). These valuable discussions provide an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to reflect on academic progress, set goals and chart a course for future success. We encourage all families to actively participate and engage in these conversations to support our students' learning journey effectively.

As we move towards the Term 1 holidays, I wish all students and families a refreshing break from the routines of school and look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 2.
