Q&A with Melissa Pisano, Year 5 Teacher — St John’s Campus

1. Where were you before this and what persuaded you to join Concordia College?

Previously I was working at Sacred Heart College Champagnat Campus with students from Years 7-9. I am qualified as a Primary School teacher and have a great passion for working with younger students. I wanted to challenge myself to enter the primary teaching space and continue to develop my skills in a community that values educating each and every learner.

2. Three words to describe you.

Motivated, enthusiastic, empathetic.

3. What is your motivation or inspiration in your role?

A huge motivation for my role is the opportunity to create relationships and a fun educational space for the students. It is such a privilege to get to come to work and actively facilitate moments of joy, success and growth.

4. If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I would love to be able to teleport! Heading to Paris for dinner and then back to school in the morning would be delightful!

5. Who would you invite to a dinner party of six guests and why? Alternatively, tell us something you might like to share that we could not possibly know?

I used to be a KX Pilates instructor!
