This term at St Peters Campus, Visual Arts lessons from ELC to Year 6 were all about creativity, exploration and hands-on fun. ELC students brought their imaginations to life, creating colourful caterpillars, butterflies and chameleons, all tied to their Unit of Inquiry on living things. It was a playful way to explore the natural world through art. Junior Primary students embraced drawing and painting, experimenting with line, shape and pattern to express their ideas in vibrant ways as they created animals, flowers and crazy monsters!
In Year 3/4, students were captivated by the Japanese art of Notan, focusing on the relationship between positive and negative space to create striking compositions. Meanwhile, Year 5/6 students took on the challenge of printmaking, carefully crafting their own foam and lino prints, learning the precision and skill involved in this technique. Across all year levels, these lessons provided a rich environment for artistic expression, inspiring students to think creatively and enjoy the process of making art.
