On Wednesday 21 August, our Year 2 and Year 3 students from St Peters Campus had the exciting opportunity to visit the Drama Centre at Concordia Campus, Highgate. During their visit, they were treated to a series of performances by the Year 8 Drama students, who had thoughtfully written and produced original plays specifically tailored for our younger audience.
These plays showcased not only the creativity of the Year 8 students but also their ability to incorporate theatrical techniques. The performances drew inspiration from Slingsby Theatre, a renowned Adelaide-based company celebrated for its innovative use of shadow puppetry and intricate miniature sets. Our students were captivated by the unique storytelling methods, which brought the narratives to life in an enchanting and unforgettable way.
In addition to enjoying the performances, our students gained valuable insights into the world of drama and the creative process behind it. This experience not only entertained but also inspired our young learners, leaving a lasting impression of the magic that can be created on stage.
