Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO) 2025

In Term 1, 16 students from Years 9, 10 and 12, represented Concordia in the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO). The competition is designed for students who are interested in Languages and Maths or Computing, and who really enjoy solving puzzles and cracking codes.

This year, Concordia students joined 2,692 students from 93 schools across Australia in the first round of the competition. Our students worked intensively in their teams over a period of two hours, to solve a range of challenging language analysis problems. The standard of the competition is very high. To receive a Gold award, students must achieve in the top 8% nationally, for a Silver award they must achieve in the top 25% and for a Bronze award they must achieve in the top 50%. An Honourable Mention is given to a team that achieves full marks for a problem.

Congratulations to our two senior and two junior teams who performed very well, achieving one Silver, two Bronze and one Honourable Mention overall.
