Enrichment and Extended Learning News

At Concordia, the Extension and Enrichment Program offers a diverse range of opportunities, including academic competitions, extracurricular activities and in-class differentiation, to engage and challenge students beyond the standard curriculum.

da Vinci Decathlon success

Recently we had a Year 7 and a Year 9 team represent Concordia at the annual da Vinci Decathlon competition. This challenging academic competition is designed to stimulate the minds of students across 10 different disciplines.

Competing against 23 schools on both days, our students achieved outstanding results. Our Year 7 team placed fourth overall in the state, while our Year 9 team secured seventh place—an exceptional accomplishment in a highly competitive field. Together, our teams earned five top three finishes across the disciplines of Science, Cartography, Art and Poetry, Creative Producers, and an incredible first place in the state for Legacy. Legacy is a section of the competition where students need to demonstrate detailed knowledge of the life of Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance period as well as a wide variety of general knowledge. In total, we achieved eight top five results across seven of the 10 disciplines, showcasing the depth and breadth of our students’ talent and teamwork.

Congratulations to all our team members for representing our school with distinction.

Rostrum Voice of Youth – State Finalist

We congratulate Sophia (9ALAM) for winning her semi-final and advancing to the State Final of the Rostrum Voice of Youth competition. Eva (9ALAM) also competed in the semi-final and delivered two outstanding speeches. Sophia will be one of four State Finalists in the Junior section. This year there were 178 entrants from 36 schools across the Northern Territory, regional South Australia and metropolitan Adelaide. Sophia will compete in the State Final at Old Parliament House in June. Congratulations to Sophia and Eva on their extraordinary achievements.
