Recently, Year 2/3 students from our St Peters Campus at Blackwood had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a hands-on learning experience with the Year 11 Child Studies class at our Concordia Campus, Highgate. The Year 11 students prepared personalised lunchboxes, thoughtfully designed to meet each younger student’s dietary requirements. This summative activity was a fantastic success! Both the Year 11 students and the Year 2/3 students thoroughly enjoyed the delicious, nutritious meals.
This project was an important part of the Year 11 curriculum, aligning with their study of The Nature of Childhood and the Socialisation and Development of Children.
This collaborative effort not only enriched the Year 2/3 students’ lunchtime, but it also gave Year 11 students valuable real-world experience in child nutrition and meal planning. It was a wonderful example of learning through action and community connection at Concordia College.
