Making Waves for Our Oceans and Our Earth

This month, St Peters Campus came alive with curiosity and hands-on learning as we celebrated World Environment Day (5 June) and World Oceans Day (8 June). World Environment Day encourages everyone to take action to protect our natural world, reminding us that every small change counts—from reducing waste to caring for local habitats. World Oceans Day highlights the beauty and importance of our oceans and the need to reduce pollution and protect marine life for future generations.

To mark these days, a special display featuring real baleen, dolphin and whale bones, pieces of coral and other ocean artefacts gave students a unique opportunity to see and touch parts of our marine world up close. As they explored the display and joined in discussions, students asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas and reflected deeply on how our actions affect the planet. It has been inspiring to see them connect their learning to practical ways they can help care for our environment, both at school and at home.

A huge thank you to Mrs Molloy, who organised this fascinating display that sparked such valuable conversations, wonder and action among our students.
