On Sunday 15 June the Concordia Pedal Prix teams competed in Round 3 at Victoria Park against 110 school teams from around Australia. Our five teams competed well throughout the day, navigating slippery conditions in the opening hours of the race before the track dried out to allow our teams to perform at their best.
Our Middle School teams were consistent across the day with our students continuing to show significant improvement as they become more experienced on track. One of the highlights for the day was seeing team Concorde climb their way to finish in sixth. A flat tyre set them back around lunchtime, but with consistent lap times they were able to move their way up the field to only miss fifth position by less than five seconds on the final lap. They are looking to be super competitive in the next race this season.
Our senior teams worked closely to support each other for the entire day. Starting on the front row of the grid, our senior team Costa began strongly before being involved in a big accident into the race wall. Getting back on all three wheels the team crawled their way back to fifth place by the end of the race, which was an outstanding effort by all riders putting them in strong contention for a podium position in the final two rounds.
Thank you to our staff and parents for all their work in the lead up and across the weekend. We look forward to racing at Tailem Bend for eight hours on Saturday 2 August.
