This term, St John’s Campus was delighted to host Student-Led Conferences across a range of year levels.
These conferences are such a special part of the learning journey, giving children the opportunity to proudly take the lead in reporting their progress. With parents as their captive audience, the excitement is unmistakable—students relish the chance to share their learning stories, highlight their achievements and explain the steps they are taking to grow.
In preparing for and presenting their conferences, students develop skills that reach far beyond the classroom. These skills are not only transdisciplinary—crossing subject areas and disciplines—but also essential for life.
Throughout the process, students are:
- engaging in meaningful self-evaluation
- demonstrating the attributes of the IB Learner Profile
- strengthening their organisational skills
- building confidence in themselves and their abilities
- thoughtfully selecting work to share, celebrating strengths and identifying areas for growth
What a joyful celebration of learning this has been, and what a wonderful set of lifelong skills our students are refining as they reflect, take ownership and share their journey with pride!
