CC Ski Trip 2025

31 July 2025

In the first week of the winter holidays, 32 Senior School students were lucky enough to travel to Queenstown, New Zealand, for a five-night Ski Trip accompanied by four staff members. We spent the first three days skiing at the Remarkables and Coronet Peak, with lessons each morning to help us gain confidence. Although we had some early starts, it meant we got to experience the beautiful sunrises each morning. There were some amazing views from the mountaintops despite the cold weather, and we were fortunate enough to have had a snow dump just before we went, giving us the perfect conditions for skiing.

Within our group we ranged from beginners to experts, but everyone got around each other and made sure no one was left behind. After a tiring three days of skiing we were rewarded with the thrilling Shotover Jet boat experience where we sped through the canyons of New Zealand at 85 kilometres per hour. Then we headed into Queenstown for lunch at the renowned Fergburger before spending some time exploring the city and shopping. This left us a relaxing last night of card games and bonding back at the accommodation.

Overall, the Ski Trip was the perfect getaway after a busy Term 2, providing a break from the stress of Year 12, whilst we focused on building our skills or learning to ski backwards, and trying jumps or tricks. We are so grateful for the amazing opportunity to experience another country and create some lifelong memories with the support of the wonderful staff members who gave their time to afford us this opportunity.
