Over the winter school break, our Drama students were hard at work, engaging with industry to build their skills and shape new local theatre performances.
Rebecca and Keziah (Year 10) were selected as part of Windmill Theatre’s Project Westall, a week-long development with young people from across South Australia. This creative experimentation informed the writing of a new theatre work from Windmill in the coming years. Students explored staging, multimedia and performance pathways, with the experience confirming their interest in undertaking a career in the Arts.
Four Concordia students, Archer, Matilda, Hannah and Keziah, also attended State Theatre’s Winter School. Under the guidance of two local artists, participants followed a page-to-stage process, viewed live theatre, created filmed auditions and made a physical theatre piece, culminating in a gripping public performance. Their learning will enhance their contribution to the school Drama community and forge connections to future industry pathways.
Congratulations to all students on their selection for these experiences and their impressive contribution to Adelaide’s live performance industry!
