This year’s National Science Week theme was 'Decoding the Universe'.
At Concordia Campus, students were challenged to decode the hidden messages in the Nautilus Centre (our Science building), including morse code, binary code and pig-pen code. Cracking any one of these codes provided entry to the exclusive paper plane challenge, launching from the Nautilus roof on Friday at lunchtime.
Lunchtime spectaculars during Science Week included high-voltage demonstrations with the Van De Graff generator as well as chemistry wizardry with the whoosh bottle, oobleck and methane bubbles.
Students in Year 7 German also completed a special task with a science theme, creating German Science posters for display.
National Science Week provided a wonderful opportunity for the curious scientists at Concordia, sparking interest and promoting a sense of wonder.
