The ELC students from St Peters Campus recently took part in the ‘Early Learners Go Wild @ Wittunga’ workshop in the Wittunga Botanic Garden.
The children eagerly explored the amazing opportunities that had been set up for us by the team at Nature Play SA. Having the opportunity to explore natural resources in play allows children to use their imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills in open-ended ways. Natural loose parts can be transformed into endless possibilities, encouraging children to think flexibly and develop resilience. This type of play also strengthens their connection to the natural world, fostering curiosity, respect for the environment and a sense of wonder. Through hands-on exploration, children build fine and gross motor skills, engage their senses, and develop social skills as they collaborate and share ideas with others.
It was an amazing way to celebrate our Eco Warriors initiative as part of our signature EdVenture learning framework, and we can’t wait to visit again.
