Year 9/10 Girls
Tuesday 14 October was a great day for a drive to the country as the Year 9/10 girls' knockout basketball team headed to Keith for Round 2 of the competition. There were a few nerves going in, knowing both opposing teams are always strong competition, but the girls came out firing and played some fantastic basketball. Both games were closely contested in the first halves, but our team of girls (ranging from Years 7–10) held strong, showing great composure, sharp shooting and exceptional defence—particularly in the second game. The girls came away with solid wins against Tenison Woods (46–28) and Trinity College (44–24), securing their spot in the next round against Scotch College.
Year 9/10 Boys
In the boys' competition, our Year 9/10 boys played an awesome game against Mercedes College on Tuesday 21 October. It was a bit of a nail-biter with Concordia trailing by five points at 3/4 time. We managed to sink nine points from 3-pointers in the last five or so minutes, which took the game away from them. The team is in the top four and now progresses to a semifinal.
We wish both of these teams all the best as they prepare for their next matches.
Year 5/6 Girls
Our Year 5/6 girls made it to the grand final in the Statewide Schools Basketball this year—an amazing result from a field of 160 teams. Unfortunately the grand final match didn't go our way. Well done to the players and to their coach, Mr Tothill.
