This year’s Oliphant Science Awards saw an incredible 4,099 students from 145 schools across South Australia enter a total of 3,143 projects. Concordia College proudly contributed 59 (St John's Campus), 10 (St Peters Campu) and six (Concordia Campus) entries, with ten prize winning and five highly commended projects.
The Oliphant Science Awards give students the chance to shine outside of the classroom and to see how science connects with the real world. The competition encourages problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity. Throughout the process, students became young scientists—asking big questions, testing ideas, experimenting, observing and carefully documenting their discoveries. Each student showed a strong commitment to exploring science in meaningful and imaginative ways.
A special congratulations to Jayden 3TS, who, along with his category placing, achieved second place in the prestigious Department for Education Young Scientist Award.
These achievements highlight the dedication of our young scientists and the enthusiasm with which they explore the world around them. Congratulations to all students who participated and represented Concordia with pride in this statewide celebration of science and innovation.
