On Monday 27 October, Year 8 and 9 students were engaged in a national science roadshow visiting Concordia.
The AVISTA Science Roadshow provided students with direct insights into STEM and defence industry careers. It explored how defence industries use aviation, robotics, AI and autonomous systems, and how an interest in these fields can translate to a career in the advanced and high-tech jobs of tomorrow.
The show addressed key STEM topics used across the defence industry, including flight propulsion and artificial intelligence, with engaging demonstrations, a virtual reality challenge and an AI robot. It also used these as a point to talk about STEM careers and pathways into STEM careers, including those in the defence industry.
