Community Connectors – Helpers in Our Hometown

This term at St Peters Campus, the ELC children have been exploring our Unit of Inquiry and the Central Idea that “People belong to groups and interact in them in different ways”, with a focus on people within our community who have different roles and responsibilities.

We have been inviting parents to visit and share the important roles they play in helping others, from caring for people’s health to supporting families, protecting our environment and strengthening our neighbourhoods. These visits have helped the children understand that everyone has a special part to play in making our community a safe, caring and connected place.

The children have absolutely loved having their parents come in, and we feel so lucky to be learning about all the amazing things people do within our community. We still have many visits planned over the next few weeks and can’t wait to discover even more about the different ways people help, care and contribute to our community.
