Congratulations to Concordia's filmmaking teams in the 48 Hour Film Project, both of which won awards for their films on Saturday night.
Suaviter Cinematix had been nominated for Best Ensemble, Best Use of Genre and Best School Film. They won the Best Use of Genre Award for their medical sci-fi film, Sick Bay.
Fortiter Films was nominated for and won the Best Ensemble Award for their single room comedy, The Party Planner/s. As part of their prize, Fortiter Films also won a full day filmmaking workshop and lunch at AIE, the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, one of Australia's premier 3D animation, visual effects, film and computer games education providers.
Both teams also won free registration to the 2026 competition.
The awards were presented at an exclusive event at the Piccadilly Cinema on Saturday night hosted by City Producer, Anita Baltutis, and Australian television and film legend and ambassador of the Adelaide 48 Hour Film Project, Ernie Dingo, with a keynote presentation from Chair of the South Australian Film Corporation and former Premier of South Australia, Mike Rann. It was attended by leading members of the South Australian film and television industry and tertiary educators including General Manager of Channel 44, Lauren Hillman as well as writers, actors and producers such as PJ Oaten, Mark Knight, Nick Launchbury, Nick Buckland and Chris Asimos, to name a few.
We are very proud of their efforts and commend the students involved for their efforts.
