There was energy, laughter and a healthy dose of competitive spirit across St Peters Campus on Thursday 26 February as students and staff took part in our whole-campus Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge.
Every person on campus—students and adults alike—began the day wearing a necklace. The goal was simple: challenge someone to a single round of “Rock, Paper, Scissors… SHOOT!” If you lost, you had to physically hand over your necklace to the winner. No best of three. No second chances. One shoot—and the necklace changed hands!
As the challenge unfolded, necklaces quickly began stacking up around the necks of our strongest competitors. It was fantastic to see students confidently approaching peers, teachers and support staff, all eager to test their luck. Laughter echoed across the yard as dramatic wins and surprise losses played out in real time.
What made the event so special was that everyone participated. Adults were just as involved as the students, and it created a wonderful sense of connection across year levels. Older students encouraged younger ones, staff embraced the fun, and the entire campus shared in the excitement of such a simple but powerful community-building activity.
After many intense “shoot” moments and an impressive collection of necklaces, Lucy emerged as the overall winner of the day. Congratulations, Lucy—a well-earned victory!
Events like this remind us that belonging and connection can grow through shared experiences and a willingness to have fun together. We are excited to share that the Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge will be returning throughout the year as we continue to build strong community spirit across St Peters Campus.
We’re already looking forward to the next round… Rock, Paper, Scissors… SHOOT!
