With a record number of students attending Chess Club each week, we have been able to enter three teams in the secondary school inter-school chess tournament this year. The students played their first two rounds of the season on Friday 30 April. Concordia Seniors, comprising students in Years 9 to 11, won six out of a possible eight games, and Concordia Blue and Concordia Gold also had a successful evening. These two teams comprise students in Years 7 and 8, and it was pleasing to see them perform so well against students who were often considerably older and more experienced. Most importantly, the students were excellent representatives of the College, approaching their opponents with courtesy and good humour. We look forward to a great season ahead!

The Concordia Sailing Team competed in the SA Team Sailing State Championships from 12-15 April at the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club. The very new team competed with admirable courage against the senior crews, winning nine races over the three days.
The skippers - Charlotte, Archer and Ben - were exemplary in stepping up into these challenging roles and the crews were resilient and steadfast in their support. All team members improved dramatically over the regatta and should all be very proud of their achievement in receiving the Chairman's Award. This is awarded by the umpires and race committee to a team that shows excellent sportsmanship over the regatta.
Team: Cameron (Year 7), Eamonn (Year 7), Kara (Year 7), Jacob (Year 8), Georgia (Year 8), Ella (Year 8), Archer (Year 8), Daniel (Year 9), Isobel (Year 10), Charlotte (Year 10), Ben (Captain, Year 11).
