Back to topConcordia College has recently implemented BusMinder in our school buses (aside from the Adelaide Metro school buses travelling to and from the Adelaide Hills).
BusMinder creates a safer, more secure way for students to travel to and from school. Using the latest in GPS and smartcard technology, BusMinder provides staff and parents with real-time information on the location of students during their daily bus travel.
BusMinder is an innovative app that provides schools with proof of travel for every student trip. Schools can see in real time who is on the school bus and the location of the bus. Parents can check to see if their child is on a bus, and even track the journey of the bus, and set alerts for when the bus will arrive for ease of pick up.
All students are either issued with a BusMinder card (St John’s Campus) which is unique to them and contains a small microchip, or they are able to use their Student ID card (Concordia Campus) as their BusMinder ticket. These cards itemise the student's bus journey.
When a student boards or alights a bus, they tap their BusMinder/Student ID card onto an electronic reader. This reader then disseminates the information to the College and the parent's phone – indicating the child's current location.
BusMinder provides an extra layer of student safety and security to the school bus commute, giving College staff and parents more control and accountability during this time. BusMinder makes 'pick-ups' and 'drop-offs' easier to manage, thanks to instant location alerts to your mobile phone, and provides peace of mind with regards to student safety. We are also working with BusMinder to arrange for students to be able to download the app on their phones so they can monitor bus locations.
Concordia College operates a number of bus routes to different across Adelaide, with the following services now utilising BusMinder:
- Aberfoyle Park
- Blackwood Park
- Golden Grove
- Hackham
- Mawson Lakes
- Windsor Gardens
Tickets for bus travel on these bus services are now purchased through the BusMinder app and automatically loaded onto the student’s BusMinder/Student ID card. The following ticket types are available: casual trip, 20-trip and Term Pass.
Currently there are spaces available on all bus routes. Information regarding Concordia College Bus Routes is on the College website. Please contact the Finance Office on 8272 0444 or email buses@concordia.sa.edu.au with any queries.
