Preparing for Year 6 Exhibition

Each year our Year 6 students showcase the outcomes of their learning journey through the IB Primary Years Programme at the Year 6 Exhibition, presenting detailed information on a range of sub-topics within an umbrella topic. At our recent St John's Campus Assembly, the Year 6 students shared about the process, key concepts and roles that are involved in preparing and presenting the Exhibition. It was also an opportunity for the students to practise before they share this information with parents at the Student Led Conferences and Exhibition Information Night on Thursday 22 June.

During the Assembly we also celebrated the group of girls that were involved in the Crows Girls Football Tournament recently. The team was coached by Darryl Wakelin. Well done to the girls involved!

Reception Jolly Phonics Dress-Up Day

On Friday, students from our Reception classes enjoyed the opportunity to dress up as their favourite Jolly Phonics characters. It was wonderful to see so many students, as well as their teachers and classroom assistants, joining in with the spirit of the day.

PNG Visitors

On Friday 16 June we were pleased to welcome three special visitors from Papua New Guinea to our campus. Bishop Jack Urame, Pastor Kinim Siloi and Mr Bernhard Kaisom joined us for our Chapel service and then stayed to talk with us about our partnership with the Siassi Islands in PNG. Thank you to Mrs Wells for coordinating this visit. We now look forward to five staff members travelling to PNG later this year to discuss future partnership plans with our friends from Siassi.

Staff Update

During Term 3 there will be some new staff around the campus while some existing staff members are on leave. Please welcome new staff members as you come into contact with them.

By way of an update: Mrs Jenny Kowald (2K) will be taking the term as Long Service Leave. During her absence Miss Bethanie Waldhuter will be teaching the class. Mrs Marianne Schirmer (LSO) will be taking two weeks leave at the commencement of the term as will Mrs Caitlin Wilk (4W). Marianne will be replaced by Mrs Marnie Savage and Caitlin will be replaced by Mr Glenn Colla.

We wish Jenny, Caitlin and Marianne a wonderful time away and pray for their safe returns.

We also thank Mrs Stacey Harland for her service within the Learning Support Team during Term 2 while Mr Robertson was on Long Service Leave. Mr Robertson returns at the beginning of Term 3.
