A group of seven girls attended the University of Adelaide' Young Women in Technology day last Thursday 15 June, participating in a range of engineering challenges and activities that opened their eyes to the constantly changing tech landscape. As part of the experience, the young women saw a Virtual Reality (VR) 3D geological survey, made slime of varying consistencies, learnt about the internet of everything and built simple water filtration systems by following instructions written in varying degrees of English and with varying budgets representing the GDP of countries around the world.

A group of Year 11 students recently took up one of many opportunities to make a difference to the wider community by donating blood at the Red Cross Blood Donor Centre in Regent Arcade. These students were first time donors and have now joined Concordia’s Red25 team which is part of a broader Red Cross initiative that works towards ensuring that 25% of Australia’s blood donations are secured. Each donation the students gave can help save up to three lives. So between them, the students saved 12 lives!
If you’re already a donor, why not join Concordia’s Red25 team and help save lives.
