On Tuesday morning, the Year 5 students and parents came together to take part in one of the reporting opportunities at St John’s Campus, the Student-Led Conference.
Student-Led Conferences are a unique opportunity for the children to lead the reporting process. Throughout the process the students show a greater responsibility for their own learning and demonstrate their ability to communicate their own learning. The skills developed while preparing and conducting the conference are trans-disciplinary and useful for many different areas of life.
Throughout the journey, the students are:
- engaging in the process of self-evaluation
- demonstrating the qualities of the IB Learner Profile
- developing organisational skills
- developing greater self-confidence
- involved in the selection of work to show parents and to identify points of strength as well as areas for further development
What a fabulous set of skills and processes they are refining!

Grandparents and special friends of the ELC and Reception children were warmly welcomed at a visit to St John’s Campus on Friday, 7 June. The visitors enjoyed a range of musical performances in the hall before moving to classrooms to interact with the children. There was great excitement and a buzz of activity as the children shared their learning and engaged in favourite play experiences. A delicious morning tea completed the visit.
We really appreciate your support of the Concordia College Annual Appeal. Each year your tax-deductible donations provide Scholarships and equipment, and help to finance projects to benefit our students.

Last week we were fortunate to have a youth ministry group from Melbourne called Freestyle Dance Ministry come to visit us at the St John’s Campus.
The Year 1s through to Year 6s each had an opportunity to participate in a workshop. Workshop leaders Justin and Dan are inspired by their passion for freestyle dance and their love of God. They shared with the students how they use their dancing as a form of worship, praise, and to connect with God in prayer.
These workshops were filled with exciting music, high energy levels and a lot of fun! The students had the opportunity to learn some cool new dance moves as well as some free dance to show off their own moves, before finishing off with Justin and Dan sharing their own faith testimony.

St John’s Lutheran Church has an exciting musical preschool ministry called Little Lambs Music which is held every Monday morning from 10 – 11:30am in the St John’s Ministry Centre during term time. We would like to invite any parents or carers of babies through to kindy aged children to join us for this, experiencing a special time with your child as well as having the opportunity to connect with other parents/carers.
Come and join our passionate ministry leaders Meagan and Janet alongside many other Little Lambs families for a 45-minute session where there will be singing, movement and dancing, playing of instruments and hearing stories and rhymes. The session time ends with a fruit time for the children and a morning tea for parents.
We would love to have you join us with your little ones.
