Year 6/7 Knockout Sport Success

Our Year 7 students, along with five Year 6 boys in the boys AFL team have been very successful in this jam-packed term.

In the statewide grand finals our teams have all won gold, to be the top school in their respective soccer and football knockout competitions.

Thanks to all staff who have provided support throughout these competitions, particularly Sue Serotzki and Pastor Dale whose support of our football teams has been invaluable.

The students have become teammates, and learned valuable lessons in resilience under the amazing guidance of Zac Grivell, Zac Goodwin and Bri Arthur, who as Old Concordians continue to be outstanding role models to our younger students.

We are looking forward to more opportunities on offer the this cohort in Term 4.

Knockout Football Report - Monday, 21 September

On Monday, 21 September the Boys and Girls AFL teams headed to Thebarton Oval for their Knockout grand finals.

In trying conditions with cross winds the girls were put to the test but their class and high level of skill shone through. They worked hard in the contest to play their clean game and defeated Grange.

Final scores: Concordia 6.7 (43) defeated Grange Primary 5.6 (36).

The boys began the game with confidence, playing as a well-structured team and capitalising on opportunities at goal. They persisted and outplayed their opponents to run away with a convincing win against Fulham North Primary.

Final scores: Concordia College 12.13 (85) defeated Fulham North Primary 3.1 (19).

What an amazing effort from a talented group of students! They are commended for their sportspersonship and the mature manner in which they represented Concordia.

A huge thank you to the following coaches and support staff.

  • Girls - Brianna Arthur and Sue Serotzki with Piper 9AGEU and Sophie 9TPRE
  • Boys - Zac Grivell and Pastor Dale

Congratulations everyone!
