An evening at the Mary Magdalene Drop-In Centre once again proved to be a rewarding experience for those who worked together to serve those in need on Saturday night. A group of seven students and three parents, coordinated by Liz Sexton, put together the food prepared by so many willing Middle School parents and students and served it up to the centre’s patrons.
Thank you to all those who spent time and effort preparing food for this event, and to those donated clothing and funds. Special thanks to Liz March for another stellar effort in making this event so successful and to parent volunteer Sue Harrison who celebrated her birthday by serving others.
The members of this year’s Football Outreach Vanuatu team are currently preparing to head to the Pacific Island nation of Vanuatu at the end of the term to engage and bring hope to the community through participation in Australian Rules Football coaching clinics and matches. Some much-needed equipment will also be donated during the trip.
This Saturday night, our Sports Lovers Night will be held in The Suaviter from 7pm. As this is the major fundraiser for this year’s trip, we hope to see as many people there as possible for a relaxed night of food and entertainment, with the chance to hear from ABC Commentator Roger Wills, Crows CEO Andrew Fagan, Opals Captain Laura Hodges, and Port Adelaide Football Club player Emmanuel Irra.
It’s not too late to book your tickets, so head to www.trybooking.com/RGSI to book today!
