On Sunday, 10 September, the St John’s Lutheran Church Unley held a School Service run by a number of Concordia students from both campuses. A group of Year 11 and 12 students volunteered their time to lead the music side of the worship service. The primary students ran skits, songs and dances focused around the topic of grace and the influence of Martin Luther. This was complimented by a sermon delivered by guest preacher and Concordia’s soon-to-be pastor, Dale Gosden. Pastor Dale focused on the influence of the Reformation and on the immeasurable love and mercy that God has always shown and will continue to show to His people. All-in-all, this was a lovely service that provided Concordia students and St John’s parishioners with a wonderful opportunity to worship together.

Refresh, Concordia’s student ministry group, has continued to draw large numbers to its weekly get-togethers. Each week, students from a range of year levels meet together during Thursday lunchtimes to share in prayer, devotion, weekly challenges, games and activities. Last week, the Refresh leadership group organised a panel of teachers to answer a range of questions relating to faith, action, service and the Bible. The questions asked were all very well considered and both the teachers and the students benefited from the opportunity to learn from and share with each other in this setting.
