Instrumental Lessons
Applications are now open for Instrumental & Vocal lessons at Concordia College in 2018. Lessons are offered in a wide range of instruments. Students may choose to play flute, bassoon, clarinet, oboe, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, saxophone, tuned & untuned percussion, violin, viola, double bass and many more. Peripatetic teachers are engaged to provide one to one music instruction. If your child would like to begin lessons in 2018, please fill in the online form. All details regarding fees, as well as the instrumental agreement, are contained within the link.
All students who are currently having Instrumental or Vocal lessons in 2017 will need to complete the online form to ensure that contact details are correct moving forward into the new year. If your child does not intend to continue with their lessons in 2018, please ensure that you inform the instrumental teacher as soon as possible, as well as letting the Music Office know by phoning 8291 9367 or via email (music@concordia.sa.edu.au).
Instrumental Hire
Instrumental hire for selected instruments can also be arranged through the College, by filling in the online application form.
All details regarding fees and the hire contract are contained within the link. Students who are currently hiring and wish to continue to do so are not required to fill out this form again. If you are not continuing to hire an instrument in 2018, it will need to be returned to the Music Office by Friday 1 December.
Ensemble Auditions
Auditions for band ensembles will take place during Weeks 3 and 4. Current students who are in Years 7 to 11 in 2017 who wish to audition for Big Bands, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band have been informed that they need to collect excerpts from the Music Office for their audition and register their interest. Students who are new to the Middle and Senior Schools in 2018 have been invited to an audition as well. New ensembles will be decided upon during week 5, with the intention of the 2018 Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Big Bands beginning rehearsals as of Week 6 this year. Here is the audition schedule - a more detailed version will appear in the Music Centre in the coming weeks, and students need to keep an eye on the Music noticeboard.

Back to topOn Monday 25 September, the Junior Primary students at the St John’s Campus entertained their audience by showcasing some of their Arts learning. The Receptions played glockenspiels, Year 2s beat out tunes on the bucket drums, the Reception to Year 2 Choir sang enthusiastically, the Year 2 Recorder Ensemble played and the Junior Strings did their final performance for the year. Along with live performances, some great videos featuring dance, drama, garage band raps and Year 1 drumming were shown.
A wonderful effort by all Junior Primary students who showcased their amazing performance skills.
