2020 IGSSA Sportsperson of the Year - Jessie 12LNEL

Every year each IGSSA school has the opportunity to nominate one sportsperson from their school to be considered for the prestigious Sportsperson of the Year award.

Jessie (12LNEL) was voted by the Girls Sport Coordinators from all schools as this year's most deserving.

Jessie has represented Concordia at the highest level and has been an outstanding role model to all students. She willingly assists with Junior development. In particular, her involvement in helping to develop the Middle AFL girls again this year has been invaluable.

During COVID Jessie has juggled a heavy training load over the year. She was required to continue personal training for Softball to maintain a high level of fitness for the pending International World Cup trip to Peru. During the early days of COVID, Concordia maintained a level of fitness and skills training where we relied very heavily on the Sport Captains and Senior students to help implement and manage the strict rules we had in place for safe student involvement.

Jessie has been selected for U/18 National Softball representation for the 2020 World Cup and Co-Captained the U/18 State Softball team. In addition, she is an A grade Sturt Softballer and a Sturt SANFLW player. Her Concordia sporting involvements include:

  • A grade Volleyball (Vice Captain)
  • Netball player
  • Concordia Girls AFL (Captain)
  • Basketball
  • Athletics.

Congratulations to Jessie on this award!
