48 Hour Film Project

24 Nov 2025

Our Drama Department entered two Concordia teams in the 48 Hour Film Project in 2025, with both teams bringing home awards following the public screening and judging of their films. Suaviter Cinematix was nominated for two awards and won ‘Best Use of Genre’ for their film Sick Bay, a medical sci-fi story. Meanwhile, Fortiter Films won the ‘Best Ensemble Award’ for their one-room comedy The Party Planner/s. The Best Ensemble Award also earned the students a full-day filmmaking workshop and lunch at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE). The exclusive awards night was hosted by Producer Anita Baltutis and Australian television legend Ernie Dingo, with leading members of the SA film and television industry and tertiary educators also in attendance.

With both teams winning free registration into the 2026 competition, we look forward to students continuing to hone their craft as writers, producers, directors, actors, camera operators and editors, producing original and engaging content while learning beyond the classroom.
