With a boys’ team and a girls’ team both representing the College in Open Division 1 of the Schools National Basketball Championships on the Gold Coast, the stage was set for some tough competition against the top schools in each state. Over five days and seven matches, the teams’ performances on-court demonstrated extraordinary levels of skill and teamwork as well as courage, determination and growth. Their strong match play saw both teams advanced to the bronze medal matches, hoping to earn Concordia’s first medal at this competition on the national stage.

In the end, our boys’ team walked away with the bronze medal—a testament to their hard work, dedication, high-level skills, team commitment and perseverance. While the girls also played to an incredibly high level, the final result unfortunately didn’t go their way and saw them finish in fourth place after an exciting week of basketball. 

We commend each of the students involved for the way they represented Concordia to a high standard, doing both themselves and the College proud.
