Concordia Places Second in the State for Brain Bee Team Challenge

14 Aug 2025

Designed to be intellectually rigorous and to test students' knowledge of complex topics such as brain anatomy, neural communication, neurological disorders and current advances in brain research, the Australian Brain Bee Challenge is a prestigious neuroscience competition for Year 10 students.

Nine Concordia students competed in the State Final of the competition this year, having answered a total of 22,500 questions about the brain to prepare for their involvement.

With Concordia teams placing in the top three in two of the past three years, our students have enjoyed great success in the competition and this year was no different. Following the conclusion of the State Final, we congratulated our team on their exceptional performance, which saw them place second in the State in the Team Challenge—an extraordinary result!

These students are commended for their efforts and for their involvement in this wonderful extension activity—a particularly beneficial opportunity for those who plan to study Biology and Psychology in Years 11 and 12 and those who hope to one day undertake tertiary study in a medical field.
