The inaugural Concordia Dance showcase saw students from Years 5 to 12 take centre stage in two sold-out performances that celebrated creativity, collaboration and growth through contemporary, jazz, lyrical and student choreography. The theme for the Showcase was ‘Milkumana’ a Yolŋu Matha word meaning “to share knowledge and pass it on”—a fitting acknowledgement of the learning journey students have undertaken, learning from a range of Dance teachers and guest practitioners this year.
Featuring performances from extra-curricular dance groups as well as Year 9 and Stage 1 Dance students, the showcase concerts provided a perfect platform on which to celebrate Concordia’s vibrant, inclusive, and growing dance community. As our Dance programs continue to develop at Concordia, we look forward to further opportunities to celebrate the resulting growth in students’ confidence, artistic depth and expression.
