St Peters Campus Embarks on an EdVenture — A New Lens for Learning

6 Aug 2025

A transformative approach to teaching and learning is underway at our St Peters Campus in Blackwood, with the development of our 'EdVenture' program—a new lens for learning that centres around real-world connections and purpose-driven experiences for students.

Service and sustainability are two of the core components of the program, which connects learners to one another, their community and the wider world. As part of this new framework, students explore how they can become active citizens who care for other people and the world in which we live. Whether learning about water or waste reduction, students are asking big-picture inquiry questions and acting in ways that may seem small, but have powerful results.

In addition, special interest EdVentures empower students to become agents of their own learning, choosing to build on their own areas of strength or interest in engaging, hands-on ways.

Sharing with parents and caregivers about the program, St Peters Campus Bronwyn Wilson said,

"From sustainability projects in our local environment to creative problem-solving in design and digital spaces, EdVenture has already begun to transform the way our students see themselves as learners. Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond ... a new suite of experiences will be introduced, giving students opportunities to extend their learning in areas such as enterprise, innovation, sustainability and service. Importantly, EdVenture will remain woven into the fabric of everyday learning, ensuring that every child—no matter their strengths or interests—can find their own pathway to flourish."

We look forward to seeing students continue to engage in educational experiences that are both foundational and adventurous through EdVenture, as we seek to challenge, connect and empower every learner.
