Heather Courtney (Leske)

1963

After studying at Concordia, Heather’s early career was as a Deaconess in the Lutheran Church. Since then she has spent 20 years working for Families SA, 13 years as the Community Safety Officer at the City of Murray Bridge, and 15 years as a support worker at a shelter for the homeless and victims of violence.

Heather lives in Murray Bridge and is a pillar of the community there. She has spent countless hours volunteering with families, clubs, kindies and charities. She is an inspiration to the community and has been recognised for a lifetime of service by receiving the 2019 Australia Day Murray Bridge Citizen of the Year award.
